The program is accredited by NBAA (China), a signatory of the Canberra Accord — a mutual-recognition agreement that at the time of enrollment covered eleven jurisdictions: Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, South Africa, Taiwan, the United States, Australia (Australian Institute of Architects, withdrew 2018), and the Commonwealth Association of Architects representing the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth states (withdrew 2022). Graduates can apply their degree toward professional architect registration in any signatory country, typically with reduced examinations and fees.

Master of Architecture at the Department of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning, University of Sassari, studied as part of a double-degree program with Tianjin University on the Chinese government CSC Scholarship; admission was decided by a committee through a competitive selection held at Tianjin University. Officially opened in May 1562, Sassari is one of the oldest universities in Italy and ranked 1st nationally for medium-sized institutions in the 2009–2010 Censis Research Institute rankings; it has consistently stayed near the top, placing 3rd in 2024–25. The standard two-year, 120-CFU program is split into Architettura and Design curricula and was planned as a single academic year (2019–2020) under the double-degree arrangement — the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the studies, which were successfully completed in 2026. The curriculum emphasizes the Mediterranean context, sustainable design, architectural restoration, urbanism, and regeneration of coastal and rural settlements in Sardinia.

CTU in Prague is the most prestigious technical university in the Czech Republic and one of the oldest technical universities in the world, founded in 1707. The two-year program builds on the bachelor's degree with advanced training in structural analysis and engineering design. Coursework covered concrete, steel, masonry, and timber load-bearing systems; static and dynamic behaviour of buildings; advanced structural mechanics; finite-element analysis and 3D modelling; and foundation engineering — each semester pairing theoretical coursework with complete project documentation (load take-off, structural calculations, and reinforcement details) across cast-in-place and prefabricated concrete, steel, and timber systems.

My second experience abroad — a one-semester exchange undertaken as part of the bachelor studies of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Chung Hua University is a private university in Hsinchu, Taiwan, founded in 1990 and closely tied to the city's high-tech industry concentrated around the Hsinchu Science Park. Its College of Architecture and Design brings together architecture and urban planning, interior design, landscape architecture, and industrial design, with a strong emphasis on studio teaching and physical model-making. The semester was devoted to completing the bachelor thesis "Jungle House" — a residential project sited in Tamsui, developed under local supervision.

My first experience abroad — a one-semester exchange undertaken as part of the bachelor studies of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Dalian University of Technology, founded in 1949, ranks among China's leading technical universities — a member of the elite Project 985 and Double First-Class initiatives, renowned above all for its engineering disciplines. Its Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering spans civil, hydraulic, and transportation engineering and hosts the State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering. The exchange focused on the design of high-rise buildings and structures in seismically active regions — vertical loads, lateral systems, and code-based seismic detailing.

Four-year Technical Lyceum program at the secondary technical school of civil engineering in Náchod, combining general education with technical foundations — descriptive geometry, technical drawing, materials science, and introductory civil engineering — concluded with the matriculation exam. The school bears the name of Jan Letzel (1880–1925), the Náchod-born architect who spent the defining part of his career in Japan: between 1907 and 1920 he designed dozens of buildings there blending Art Nouveau with Japanese influences, most famously the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall (1915). Its skeletal remains survived the 1945 atomic bombing and are preserved today as the Genbaku (A-Bomb) Dome, part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Nine-year program in the visual arts department of the basic art school in Náchod, attended from age six to fifteen. Basic art schools are a distinctly Czech institution — a nationwide network of public art education providing long-term, systematically structured artistic training alongside regular schooling. The major subjects were drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, and composition — later classified in the curriculum as two-dimensional work, three-dimensional work, and object-based work. The regular lessons were the first systematic training in observation, composition, and line-making.

Independent practice based in Náchod. The scope combines client-side site supervision, structural assessments, visualisations, entries to architectural competitions, and — so far — one architectural study of a family house, with another on the way. Smaller commissions are carried as a whole, from first sketch and assessment through to oversight on site; freelancing keeps design work continuous alongside other commitments and provides direct contact with clients, authorities, and tradespeople alike.

Teaching position at the Architect Jan Letzel Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering in Náchod — a return to the school of my own secondary studies, this time on the other side of the desk. The position ran in parallel with the resumed master studies at Tianjin University and the University of Sassari. The teaching covered the technical core of the building curriculum: structural mechanics, technical and professional drawing, and design — from the fundamentals of drafting and structural reasoning through to students' independently developed projects.

Junior position in the Prague office CASUA, a practice combining architecture and building engineering, taken alongside the studies at CTU in Prague. A year devoted to the construction details of the Waltrovka residential complex — a large redevelopment of the former Walter aircraft-engine factory site in Prague-Jinonice — under the guidance of a senior engineer. Work on the construction-stage documentation of a major residential development: assembly build-ups, material junctions, and the details where design meets buildability.

Junior structural engineering position in the Prague office RECOC. The work concentrated on reinforcement drawings for cast-in-place and precast concrete structures, prepared for clients in Germany and Russia — precise production documentation where every bar counts. Running in parallel with the master studies at CTU, it gave the theory of concrete structure design an immediate practical counterweight.

Assistant position in the Prague studio of academic architect Milan Hrouda, held alongside the studies at CTU in Prague. The work spanned architectural studies and competitions, above all the competition entry for the extension of IKEM — the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague. An early lesson in how a small studio moves between sketch, competition board, and design documentation — and a first chance to watch the full arc of an architectural commission up close.

Drafting engagement focused on the 3D modelling of an industrial complex from archival 2D drawings — translating decades-old paper documentation into a coherent digital model, including tracking down discrepancies between the drawings and the built reality. The engagement ran alongside the studies at CTU in Prague.

Drafting position in a small Náchod design office led by an authorized architect. The work consisted of permit-stage documentation for family houses, apartment buildings, and smaller commercial buildings — a first professional experience of turning a design into a complete set submittable to the building authority, taken on alongside the bachelor studies at CTU.

Summer seasons on the construction sites of the Náchod building company REALSTAV as a bricklayer's assistant, while still at secondary school. A first contact with building that started at mixing mortar — how a wall actually comes into being, and how much labour hides behind every drawn line.

Third prize in the architecture category of the Inspireli Awards — a worldwide competition for architecture students and young architects, judged by a broad international jury of practising architects. One of the largest student architecture awards in the world. The prize was awarded to the project The Soundwave.

Second prize in the Best Master's Thesis competition organized by Dlubal Software, the developer of the RFEM structural analysis platform. Awarded for the master's thesis in Building Structures at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU in Prague. Semi-finalist of the Inspireli Awards — the worldwide architecture competition for students and young architects. An early international benchmark, four years before the third prize in the same competition. Entered with the project The Amphibian.

Design-build workshop organized by the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), Tianjin University, and the CBC Architecture Institute in the village of Xiamutang — an intervention designed and built directly on site in a mixed Norwegian–Chinese student team.
